An Independent Animated Film

LIGHT
"LIGHT" was created by Miami trio B.O.K. Suite, comprised of Oscar Fuentes aka The Biscayne Poet, string quartet Baby B Strings, and artist Karla Caprali. This animated short film spawned out of the uncertainty the world felt as it abruptly shut down in 2020.
Inspired by Maya Deren's "Meshes of the Afternoon", Light grips the audience as The Biscayne Poet's iconically Miami voice narrates his original poetry and music from Modest Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition" is performed by Baby B Strings.
Caprali animated and directed this film using handcrafted drawings, mixing traditional art and digital animation. LIGHT meets at the intersection of each artist’s creative freedom, echoing their pain and stories of survival in a time of global tragedy.
